CSR Forum 2007

Goals

The main goal of the project was to elaborate a unified national platform for CSR in Russia, to lay the basis of systematic dialogue between the key government, corporate, public, scientific and expert structures, aimed at creating national CSR concept and complex of its evaluation criteria.

Another task was to create the new agenda in CSR area, reflecting strategic priorities of national development and increasing competitiveness and social investment level of Russian companies.

Implementation

The project have been supported by The Public Chamber of Commerce of Russian Federation and Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation. This event attracted representatives of foreign expert organizations, such as Ethical Corporation, AccounAbility, Merrill Lynch, and largest Russian and foreign companies, comprising VTB, TNK-ВР, MTS, Eurocement group, Ernst&Young, Dow Chemical, Gasprombank, SUEK.

The Forum hosted presentation of the project “Responsible leadership: Russian corporate social responsibility rating”. The event was featured by Svetlana Sorokina and her talk-show dedicated to CSR, during which developed a fruitful discussion, involving society and business community representatives from the corporate world, Federation of Independent Labor Unions and WWF.

To support the project a special information web-site was launched - www.csrforum.ru, which laid the basis for the national CSR resource. The web-site provides access to archives and new issues of CSR newsletters, released by the Organization Committee of CSR National Forum, about events and trends in Russian and foreign CSR practices, as well as research and poll results, illustrating various aspects of social responsibility.

Project results

More than 150 representatives of business-community, government authorities , NGOs and educational facilities, 30 Russian and foreign speakers took part in the event. Approximately 40 publications have been posted in various print and electronic media.
